7 Stocks to Sell and Take Profits on Now!

These seven stocks have had good runs, but it's time to unload them

Stocks to Sell: Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ)

Verizon (VZ) stock broke out in 2016, up 12% year-to-date. That may not seem like much, but for large telecom companies that are mostly seen as great dividend investments, 12% in six months is great. However, it’s no mistake that VZ’s gains have underperformed the 16% gains of AT&T Inc. (T), and for investors who have been lucky enough to profit from these gains, it is best to walk away. For those who find it difficult to leave Verizon’s 4.4% yield, AT&T pays a higher dividend at 4.8%, plus has great growth prospects due to recent acquisitions and new expansion opportunities.Meanwhile, VZ doubled its debt for full ownership of a U.S. wireless business that has since faced immense pricing pressure and ongoing high capital expenditures. That debt continues to weigh on the company and limit its options.7 Best Stocks to Buy on the Next DipSo while VZ does not look all that expensive at 13 times next year’s earnings, the reason to take profits is because AT&T looks so much better, with more growth, a higher dividend and the same stock multiple." Take your phone lines and money if you were laid off and watch the sinking Verizon blame everyone else but themselves for the disaster the caused.

I left a year ago when I raised my hand for a RIF. After refusing to cook the results for my organization, I got moved into a crappy, mind-numbing assignment. Getting my RIF notice was the happiest day of my career. Surprising regulators haven't caught up with them messing with their regulatory results manipulation, not to mention the shady bookkeeping on equipment inventory for a more favorable percent to expense ratio. Some people should be in jail.

If the company was smart they would let the laid off employees keep there discount on there employee accounts. No one is going to keep there accounts and pay the. High prices. Next few months they will see a big decline In post paid wireless accounts because laid off employees are going to find out how to cut cost and when they leave there friends and family will follow. Better rethink that move. I am moving 6 lines to t-mobile. There service works well in California. At half the price now friends and family said they have no loyalty to Verizon they only had Verizon because me and t-mobile is half the price and service is awesome. So this crap verizon is best is a bunch of hog wash. Say what you want but. Verizon is sinking. Analysts are saying it is the best time to let go of verizon stock and go buy at&t stock and I believe it cause verizon stock is on a decline daily. So long Verizon

I too, was laid off recently (Sept 2016). What is surprising is that after being forced into slave labor working 18 STRAIGHT 12-hour days during this summers "strike duty" - just to earn a 4-day trip back to my family - I get the boot by the Basking Ridge boys (with full HR support). I'm glad the unions got their deal. Unfortunately, VZ then announces they are shutting down thousands of Union jobs and shipping the workload overseas! Talk about a culture of DECEIT!
