Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Such a mess

This company is just a shell of the one it once was, to the point it is almost unrecognizable. We are not going into the right direction, regardless of all mergers and changes. Talented employees and even leaders are forced out. Such a horrible management, absolutely no focus on clients, projects not going as planned. Should have left Sabre three years ago, now I’m forced to look at this mess every day.

Actually it is new blood at top level that is screwing up. On AS side, all SVPs are new with no airline background. Same on tech. side. New CTO changed Senior VP layer completely and new regime does not have a clue about Sabre technology. Sabre is not run of the mill web software. Business problems are complex to solve and new guys just don't get it.

The fact that many higher level managers have been with the company since AA days is holding them back. No innovation - this is the way we do it and will continue this way. New ideas are frowned on although management says "please tell us your ideas" - when we try to show that there is a better way - we're stirring the pot and alienated . Management doesn't believe it, bottom line is that it's just too expensive to change. Management are zombies, way too politically correct, bleeding heart liberals and then they protect the wrong people - the ones that agree with them. I've alienated quite a few managers in my time but I continue to want things to change, to be a part of a successful company. Unfortunately it's like hitting my head against the concrete pillars in the lobby. When the company begins to fail they need to remove the people that made the bad decisions. There are way too many sacred cows in Sabre and until they are removed, the company will continue to hire/fire/hire/fire - that's the way of Sabre. I shake my head when I see people that I haven't seen in a while because they've come back to Sabre - WHY? I say - WHY? You were out of here, successful but came back - Oh - why - Oh - why I ask them. It's time to jump off this s(t)inking ship and move on to a company that VALUES experience and dedication.

"All companies are messed up" --

Not all companies are messed up. Costco or Kroger are not the same as walmart.

Costco offers quality products and service. Costco pays its employee decent wages and even the guys who check ours receipt at the exit have anti-fatigue Mat to stand.

Walmart products and service s---s. worker are paid slave wages, so they live on food stamps and other govt handouts. They are over worked and the guys who check your receipt at exit are zombies.

Costco CEO is one of the cheapest running happiest business and Walton family is amongst richest planet running the sweet shops.

Even C-level guys at sabre have 3M+ as compensation. Do they deserve that ........Are they ready to take a cut as they too are part of the mess............

All companies are messed up - but they either make money or not, the more money they make the better for the workers - we have issues in that department - hence the pain
