Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Negative posts

All the negativity on this site has to be from ex employees as it sure isn't the WFT I work for?

I am, after all, a Weatherford Deplorable, still employed. I've earned the right to bellyache about it. They've taken far too much to list away from me while I have given them the best of myself often at the expense of my family. So, yeah. I'm negative. And I'm out as soon as I can find something else. Absolutely no loyalty here. Or...to put it another way...I'm going to show Bernie as much loyalty and he has shown his employees. A nicer way to put it. By the way. How are you guys liking the new benefits rates? No raise going on four years? Just putting that out there.

no company shows real loyalty to their staff when the chips are down its not just WFT yes they let people go as did other service companies it was a sh-- time but its done now. To say everyone left are a miserable bunch waiting for a new post somewhere else is nonsense this just sums up the negativity being posted here everyday by the same ex employee pissed off that WFT chose him. Or maybe its seekingalpha, com who have an agenda to rid the world of WFT spurting these negative posts out daily.

The best decision I made was leaving. I feel sorry for most left behind. A lot are just hanging in there because there is little chance of getting another job right now, and not because of loyalty to WFT.

WFT had no loyalty to the vast majority of their people, but they did need to let a lot of people go to survive. Overall, WFT has not treated those left behind very well.

Once things turn around a lot of people will leave. That will be the final death blow to WFT. They can survive another quarter or two in the current slump, but will not be able to react when things start up again. Other service companies will pounce to by patents and some of the more lucrative product lines.

Just hang in their for the new owners.

To OP,

Which WFT do you work for? The sense of dread is pervasive throughout our company and it also the same in the industry. Everyone is afraid that the next axe will swing and they'll be out of a job. How could be be positive when you have this hanging over your head day-in-day-out for the past couple of years. Sure, the ex-employees are even more bitter, but the outlook isn't good where we work.

You could tell the Vp's, managers etc how any why they were losing money and it didn't interest them. They had no inkling of how much it cost to run particular divisions and were not interested in trying to find out. They will still get a good payout and severance but the real heroes are the people left who had a bit of loyalty to the company. They let too many good people go who cared about their job and the end product and expected the place to glory on. That's the fault of the upper management who have not a clue how to run a business since most of them climbed the ladder internally and were helped up by friends and old colleagues. It's a problem all through Weatherford and could have been solved by employing proper business managers to run the business instead of small minded individuals who were promoted to positions away above their capabilities !!!!

I was a manager working at a midmanagement position. The upper managers were totally worthless and we're clueless on how to show profit in the product line because they had no real field experience. THE Houston managers were out of touch.
