Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell used to lay off and not publicize it. Now they announce it and don't do it. Try to scare people away to save severance?

I was on pip for a while and given me a choice of termination or resignation, thought of taking termination and fight on court but while thinking its not worth to spend my time and a dime on this f---ing company and opted to go out as resigned.

good thing is those who are inside will take care the fall of the giant, i believe in karma, rest my ol colleagues will take care.

Should have believed the writing in these posts. Shown the door today. I wouldn't take that gig in a million years again...no chance to make your number. And, you can sell all you want...will it show in reporting? Maybe...

Dell will try anything to save a buck. PIP's are the easiest way to get rid of workers, and the massive interest payments on Dell's acquisition of EMC is causing Dell to cringe at the cost of paying (well deserved) severance. PIP's eliminate that requirement and make it easy to dump the worker bees without costing the company money, and not having to announce any layoffs.

Pips are just Dells way of reducing workforce without paying severance, didn't used to be so prevalent, but cost savings at any means. Yeah Dell

Most will not see it coming With PIPs ( Performance Improvement Plans) it is easy for upper mgmt to reduce the workforce. Walk into any location PIP stands out in any conversation. Dell runs on PIPS and touts PIPS as the best tool. Never underestimate the power of boosting morale at Dell.
