Very risky business buying NXP, prepare yourself for a layoff. Steve M.

Hahahahahahahahaha! Quit your day job. You're too funny for that!

You must be either very young or extremely oblivious, or perhaps wrote this while partying at a Halloween party. You do have extremely high thoughts about work culture at Q and and you do underestimate engineers in other companies and their work ethics. Well, let me break the news for you that Q has been successful because of being CDMA owner. But, the bad news is ownership expires and to make it worse CDMA is also dying out. So get into the ring like any other company and fight tooth and nail to survive and make profit for wall street , or face downsizing.

Moreover, NXP has 45000 headcounts. Yes, one and half time bigger than Q. So, if you in your la la land, ever think that SM will slaughter these guys and won't touch Q's, then dream on!

Beware NXP. Qualcomm has acquired other offices in Europe and eventually shut them down. Qualcomm hates the liberal vacation policies and strict 8 hour work days in many countries. Qualcomm ultimately deems them "too slow" or "under productive" and chooses to close the offices and center the work around San Diego. Then they promptly destroy whatever any value that is left in the acquired entity.

big disruptions and re-organizations on the horizon again. Lots of waste and distraction. Not sure about the NXP folks but Freescalers feel like a currency. Lowe and Clemmer, scored big. It must feel so good for them.

regarding the 2 cultures not working out, it'll be like this:

NXP: "alright, let's build something great, what are you guys working on?"

Q: "derp herp herp what is your status? derp derp derp, right? Right? RIGHT?"

NXP: "um what? that made no sense and why are um 'derping' in such an arrogant tone?"

Q: "derp derp derp herp pls attend stand up meeting. derp herp herp, right? Right? RIGHT?"

NXP: "still can't understand you, no wonder the company is in the toilet."

In my opinion Q overpaid for NXP. Also not confident the 2 cultures will work well together
