Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Any of those offered VSP have become ISP?

I have asked my manager if I should worry about getting ISP but he tells me not to worry.

@1ppf yeah right, like managers are now so naive. Look what happened the year before. Stock levels were used for VSP and layoffs. Really good People in my group were already applying after "surprising" SSL4. You confirm that managers are yes men with no capacity to figure out what's going on.

Look around at 10nm and our product line up and you don't think ACT2 and ACT3 aren't coming ?

Dude a big double storm is coming

People still wonder why front line managers told their team members that they were safe even with SL4?

It is because front line managers were left in the dark about ACT. We were told we MUST give SL4s to a cetain percentage, but nobody told us that this would he the key ISP criteria. Don't blame the FLMs for BK and HR tricking us into handing them our team member's heads pf a platter.

We get a bonus for each agreed VSP? Who is "we"? HR?

I am a front line manager with people who accepted VSPs from my team, and that is the first time I hear about something like that.

There is a real strong sense that Intel will sweep up 2016 VSPs and dispose of them in 2017.

You are making a mistake to believe anything your manager says about future layoffs. This past year my FLM told me on a Monday that there were not going to be any layoffs this year. Five days later on Friday, the Oregonian leaked the story about upcoming layoffs. BK took action the following Tuesday to announce company strategic direction accompanied by layoffs.

Can you give us your age (ballpark is fine) and how long you were at intel @1iel? Just curious why your manager would say not to worry about your SL4.

Thanks

Anyone offered and didn't take VSP better have a reserve of cash to live 18-24 months without a job.

They should expect to have to rellocate when Intel fires them, and if unwilling to move even large cash cushion or willingness to accept a far lower salary!

Big storms a brewing and ACT didn't change anything, actually internal execution has been terrible and external macro economics and competitive situation is even bigger and grimmer, ACT2 and ACT3 are a certainty

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yes. Myself and two coworkers were offered the VSP in 2013. One coworker received the ISP in 2014. Myself and the other coworker received the ISP in 2015.

Once they offer you a VSP take that as warning that your days are numbered.

FLM, SLM and even GM didn't know that ACT was coming and what the selection was. It is unethical for him to say with any certainty what is safe and not. He knows how 10nm yields are and the fixes, he knows about canon and ice performance and how th market doesn't care. He knows how n ft generation IoT and commodity memory and modems won't flop. No he don't know $hit and you better have an exit strategy as you were on the bubble last time and for sure will get cut in ACT2 or for sure ACT3

He shouldn't tell you not to worry. Managers never know what's coming that's just reality. It's unfortunate they are sometimes the last to know.
