A colleague here in AZ was sent to a school job fair earlier this year to recruit students who will be graduating soon. Students were told work from home and job flexibility was important at Honeywell, great benefits and job promotions and other things to promote HI and make it seem like a great place to work. Students were not told about furloughs or RIF that had just occurred or were occurring of course!

Again I thank all of you for sharing! I need more- please encourage anyone you know to share their story here. It's all part of research and putting together a strong segment on large global companies dumping their long time loyal employees. It is about ageism no matter what bs they try to cover it up with.

1,000 voices will always be stronger than 10.

I appreciate you all.

Blessings- OP

1.5 years ago I was put on a PIP after 35 years of very good performance appraisals. I was 58 at the time. It was trumped up bunch of BS. I was Lead Eng at the time and they didn't like the looks of my Engineer Tier Board. I had no previous warning from my Supervisor and it was a complete surprise. What a bunch of crap but HR didn't want to listen to me. Obviously HR is not here for the Employees.

There is a confirmed practice of picking off newhires (<year) also to bring down the average age and length of service. I had no PIP, no bad reviews, got my work done with compliments (2 bravo awards)...still got RIFd within my first year. Only reason given was "you didn't do anything wrong, we just eliminated your position" Ugly, cruel, and gutless. Landed a new job but am on meds for anxiety now anytime anyone mentions a downturn in sales or stock prices I go into sleepless panic attacks...thanks Honeywell.

Thanks to all who have replied- I will keep checking here and collecting data as long as people are willing to share.

Again, I do not work for Honeywell, never have and never will (Thank God).

Your stories are sickening. I am so sorry to you all. How awful to give your career and loyalty to a company that treats their employees so bad.

I have been following other company's layoff threads and none are as bad as Honeywell's.

Ageism is alive and well in America- and companies have just found ways to continue it and not get in trouble.

I wish you all blessings in the future- more so than Honeywell will ever give.

DITTO - Over 50, 30+ years of service, band 4, mid-year manager change with instantaneous PIP. I escalated up to HR VP because all of writeup was without any merit (B$), and couldn't be substantiated....(basically written up for using vacation allotment)...this forced the sr. Manager to have to get 'some on him'.....End result, lost MIP. Left that group and got excellent block rating/MIP (next round). Will be interesting to see if reachback PIP, followed up by great rating will still get you on list....

Signed,

Know where the skeletons are buried....☠️

The new Honeywell reality. If you are old (>53 yrs of age) and have been with "THE COMPANY" for more than 10 years and are a Band 4 engineer you are a dinosaur if you don't cow tow to all the HOS nonsense (clean your work space and take out your garbage) then you are destined to walk the PIP "hall of shame" and eventually be walked out truly not knowing why. Great engineering and creative out of the box ideas are discouraged. If you want to continue as an engineer tuck your tail between your legs and accept the idiocy that top line management aspouses. . . "Resistance is futile. . . . You must assimilate". Advise to you engineering folks . . . Get out of HI while you still have your integrity. You are an engineer and choose to be so without the impediments and constraints that truly is uniquely Honeywell.

Age 54 over 32 years with Allied, Garrrett, Honeywell aerospace div. in AZ. No poor performance reviews my whole career. No PIp's. Rifed with no reason. Lots of young under 2 year service employees in Department.

Ditto to the last reply. This policy of "your turn for PIP" is what ultimately pushed me to leave Honeywell. I was with HW for 2 decades and was a band 4 engineer. When I got my PIP it was during a year when I had my best performance. My designs saved HW literally millions of dollars a year in warranty costs and increased factory yield.

Fortunately I was also smart enough to be able to retire at 56. Really, Really loving life now.

I am over 50 and had never had a bad review my entire life until last year. I am a Band 4 and was given a bad review with countless false accusations. I was put on a PIP, denied my bonus, had to do a 360 and of course didn't get a merit raise. I really can't understand how Honeywell Management can sleep at night. Don't even try to get help from HR as they only care about supporting management.

I am 59.5 in December, employed by Allied, Garrrett, Hon for 37 years early 2017.

I am an employee approved for remote status for the last 1.5 years and so far not trying to get me back into a cube.

I live over two hours from the nearest HON

Location.

I've considered volunteering but it's a stretch at 59.

I can only hope they put me in a PIP and let me go after I turn 60.

I will let you know.

Just as a warning, when the Phoenix "Whistle blower" spoke to the news last year in Phoenix, thousands of emails and IMs were pulled and investigated. Many were based on speculation alone, very few people reported who they thought it was, but there were a couple anonymous reports. Management was asked to keep their ears open as to who the culprit was so they could "take immediate corrective action" and to down play any talk of the details. Additional warning for those left: DON'T VISIT THIS SITE ON YOUR WORK COMPUTER ANYMORE!! It has been flagged as a information leak/inside company information source. Use your phone OFF WIFI or on your home computer only.
