If you were able to get it, you would know what it is.

Its a seperation package, very well defined, for union represented associates.

Somewhere in the area of 90% of them pray every night for an eisp offer.

@1eqj The article, and the articles at the bottom of the first article begs to differ with what you're saying....also, you say "fiber to the premise" I think that's Verizon's way of saying fiber to the 5g term at the pole that will feed your premise.

Verizon has stopped FIOS because of the foolish leadership that is putting all their eggs in the wireless basket only to find out that the signal can not, and may never penetrate certain materials that are in homes and building today at the high-speed bulk rate they think it can.

I work in Boston. It's FIOS. We are also using fios fiber for cell towers all across the city for 5g. The fios is being built like all other areas. Fiber cable all the premise.

@K9BDyXk-1pky Correct! Boston is not FIOS! One day Verizon will compete with however buys "FIOS"

Zero dollars to expand FIOS????? Do you live in a shell?? Except for the Boston FIOS build $$$$$.... 6 years and 300 million dollars to complete.

In its infancy, Fios and LTE were able to coexist in Ivan's company. That vision is shared by nobody at verizon currently, nor will it ever be. 5g included. Money will be spent to make it obsolete, the trick is using enough lipstick, smoke, and mirrors, to hide customer line loss from the investors eyes. ARPA is already in the toilet however.

You tell me how this is going to turn out here.

It is what it is, for sure.

Verizon hates FiOS and wants it to fail. Why would you think that is the future? They feel the same way about wireline. Not really logical but it is what it is...

How is Comcast a joke?

Verizon is a mirror image of comcast now. Except Verizon owns jack when it comes to content. I get your a fios fan boy, but there is ZERO dollars budgeted to expand Fios.

In reality Fios is the joke.

Start at the customers fios remote and work backward. The equipment is a joke. The plant is a joke. Customer service is a joke. Billing is a joke. Content is a joke.

In a few short years the verizon and fios names have become a joke.

Wireless seemingly going the way wireline was supposed to but hasn't yet. Thanks to tmobile and sprint, wireless slowly dying and Verizon is going to instead build up FIOS and try to again be THE wired telephony company. Not how things were supposed to be, but with no real wired competition (Comcast is a joke), and now tons of wireless competition, Verizon has no choice but pull a 180 and go from wireless stance to wired. Strange but true.

All sorts of rumblings?

Such as...............?

What happened to the Mallard IPTV? I smell a sell off of FiOS. How much further behind are we going to get with streaming video. A whole lot does not add up here, unless a sale is comming.

Purchase Yahoo, sell off Fios.

I think this Thursday is the last day to get people off the books by end of year with 60 days notice. It's also a pay week right?

But I haven't heard anything. But then again since when does Verizon operate with transparency and honesty.

Ouch

From VES side..

RIFS hit a week ago in some orgs. Our org hasn't been hit (yet).

What We have been told thus far: .

  • Something big is coming, but can't disclose details.

  • Vacation days through end of year need to be minimized. All hands on deck to focus on "something big".

Probably will start telling us this week now that we are in November.

All Western Division (possibly entire enterprise) Network employees are invited to a teleconference Thursday with Nicki Palmer Sr VP and Chief Network Officer for Wireless. Invite didn't list a subject. They have made some reorg but plan more. I hope they reduce staff and layoff those who have asked to be cut. Timing seems right for an announced reorg and job losses. They want staff reductions off the books by EOY. Last year they walked staff out the door. Be prepared.
