Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Online orders and weekend sales

Any news to report on how the online orders went over the Thanksgiving weekend. From what I have heard the stores were mostly dead but I havent heard anything about online orders.

Our associates are encouraged to S2H on both web sites. We're a small sears store and manage to do at least 130+ a month, which is our monthly goal. It has also been encouraged on conference calls for all (much larger) stores in our district.

I'm sorry for all the toilet paper, toothpaste, coffee, etc.. and other stupid things we order. It's mandatory for individuals to have a certain amount every month. Just trying to keep our jobs until we find something else.

@rmp & @1wyf are you both at Kmarts? Yes I know the annoying beeping sound the RMU makes.

My store is currently processing approximately 200 SFS orders and 25-30 in-store pick up orders per day. Very little staffing so we are struggling to keep our heads above water.

I hear the beeping song the RMU plays when there are online orders in the system, in my sleep :-(. For those of you who work at Kmart, im sure you know what I'm talking about. It literally was going off so much all weekend

At Kmart online orders were out of control. No one was scheduled for integrated retail sonit was dumped on me. Well over 30 orders in the system at any one time, running all over the store tying to find stuff. Most of it was buried in receiving were I had to dig. It was absolutely horrific. Also trying to find stuff done by other people earlier in the week that were zero locations :-( while trying to help people who asked "do you work here" (to which I wanted to say no I just wear a Kmart badge for fun)! It was a rough weekend. Oh I forgot to mention to call outs and no shows. Sigh

We were actually busy but I am in Auto. The tire deal was good and we sold a lot of tires. Online works as long as the customer knows what size tire they need. Unfortunately, many customers do not know what they are ordering and order the wrong things.

As far as what else was for sale online, I wrote a lot of override tickets because people were looking online and then coming to the store looking for the same deal. It's not the same of course. Let's just sell it.

I know that our appliance guys had a great day on Friday and were happy. I sold a lot of tires too. The problem is that we are out of stock on many items and unless I order something specifically, I don't think we will see any restock. I have bare shelves in many places.
