I've been observing the slow demise of Sears for going on 40 years now. I was surprised the company even made it to the 21st century, given how bad things looked in the late 80's. But they aren't going to recover from the current mess. Unless Lampert gets struck by lightening, the company has no chance of surviving as a retailer. Employees who need the job need to be working on getting out now. The economy will recover from the death of Sears/Kmart, but there could be rough times for the 200k employees who get laid off all at once.
I should go ahead and quit because yes all stores will close, anyone knows that but I make 7.25 per hour part time so i may as well go ahead and keep getting all the perks of not having Aps in or any management that cares in the building. Its like just do whatever you want, take whatever you want, eat whatever candy bars you want with free syw points, life is good for the 7 dollar an hr help right now
I don't think they will all close immediately. But we can be sure there will be another 100 or more announced right after Christmas. The rest will close eventually though.
