Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The End of Verizon As We Know It

Let's all admit it.....it is coming. T-Mobile and Sprint are killing Verizon with their ads. Verizon isn't the network is once was clamored to be. Other networks are now within reach of Verizon to where the difference in network quality is negligible. Lowell is trying to stop the bleeding by branching out with purchases like Yahoo and AOL. It's just not going to save us though. Should have branched out FiOS and not bled wireline to death.

The writing is on the wall. Anyone who works for Verizon needs to keep that resume dusted off.

Cellco was a short term name but started as Bell Atlantic Mobile, then went to Cellco before there was a legal issue then went to Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile before becoming Verizon Wireless.

Be the best dumb pipe you can be. In the future people want the big bandwidth to get their Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc...

I think the problem is that Verizon is not focused on the basics and should be while also trying new ideas like being a Media Company. They did start wireless as a company called Cellco 30 years ago and the past has been a huge success.
