Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Stock Price Did firing 12,000 employees in 2016 pay off? What do you think?

Intel stock price on January 4th 2016: 33.99

Intel stock price on December 1st 2016: 33.76 (right now 34.04)

Great fracking job BK and Board. I do not see a bright future for Intel in any division or as a whole. Intel is declining quickly.

To the moron critic. So, Intel had to fire 12,000 good employees just to keep the stock from not going into the 20s... I guess if that is what you consider "pay off" then I would also guess that you still work at Intel... ha ha, jack a$$ moron. This is not pay off. Intel has many hundreds of vice presidents, multiple more directors and others that are suppose to be leaders and the best strategy that the leaders can contribute develop is to fire 12,000 employees and claim 1.2 billion in savings. Then revise the cost of the workforce reduction to over 2 billion... Intel is full of Sh_t and the leaders have ruined one of the best companies in US history.

OP got his engineering degree from McDonald's

If they didn't do ACT the stock would've gone into the 20s genius.

@KEoHWk7-ibt problem is the tipping point is being passed and people are too stupid to know, the BoD especially. But I am know just an interested observer, will be sad when more lambs get slaughtered in 2017 and 2018

Intel still is a 50+ billion dollar corporation. Until that falls below 50...you get the current management structure. If that fall ever does happen you will see management restructuring like no tomorrow. Until then Intel isn't broke.

Great response and I agree 100%. BK, Board of Directors and S. Smith = failure for Intel. Intel was once one of the greatest companies in the world and it is truly sad to see what a few high ranking morons have done to this company.

What was accomplished was the trust between management and rank and file is completely destroyed. The way they selected and walked out employees was so classless. Than you had notes from TMG manager pretty much saying get out or get kicked out for the VSP says what a nice place Intel is.

Since than intel continues to hire and pay crazy money for executives chasing the latest fads. Yet the internal manufacturing house is in shambles as 14nm, 10, and 7nm are in increase worse shambles while the completion couldn't be stronger.

New modems are out and they s---. New 14nm product out and not much as expected as it is on 14nm still and another two years on 14nm at a minimum. Lots of announcements but still no real new products!

Nope BoD gets and F, first to go should be BK and a bunch of the TMG management!
