Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Life is SO much better without Honeywell

I quit and I'm SO glad. I'm going to a much better company, with better leadership. I get 5k cheaper medical, a much better 401k, dental, vision, and a big raise. More importantly, a competent leadership team and a stable job with a company that is actually winning new business. I STRONGLY recommend anyone who can get out, do it! Honeywell (or at least Aero) is doomed to fail unless they can get rid of the loser "leadership" team that is currently running it into the ground.

Starbucks offers better benefits to employees - Honeywell is a disgrace...

Not the OP, but I am also out very soon and going to a company with very similar benefits. I didn't get a HUGE raise but it was enough.

Sorry to everyone stuck in this mess.

To the person that thinks the 401(k) at Honeywell is "pretty decent", you obviously haven't seen what most other companies in the industry and comparable in size are doing. Most will match 3-4% if you put in 6%. Honeywell doesn't even come close.

Get on LinkedIn. Lots of folks who have left Honeywell are finding their best leads and jobs on that site.

I don't think the post is fake. Too many of my former Honeywell co-workers from several different functions are all saying the same thing - there is life after Honeywell. They have negotiated for bonuses, better pay, vacation, and more depending on their job opportunity and situation. Sure it is probably easier to find jobs in some fields than others, especially if you don't want to or can't relocate. It is motivation to look for a new job.

Better 401k? I would think that is one of the things that is pretty decent at HON

I would agree that your original post is not fake, I left Honeywell over 5 months ago and been loving it ever since. Those who want to stay, all I can say is "good luck", ALT is full of "yes" man and are not listening to those who are on the factory floor.

You guys can think the post is fake - that's fine. I posted it to give you some advice and share my experience. It's your choice to listen, or not.

I can tell you that sitting in the Aero Engineering Town Hall on Friday morning (where was Bob Smith, by the way?) with my soon-to-be ex coworkers was an interesting experience. Listening to our entire group laugh out loud derisively at the obviously fake questions, hearing about the new "permissive" (non unlimited) vacation policy, and hearing the twice repeated "stick with us" plea all confirmed my choice to depart. After seeing other companies in our market segment with better culture, leaders, benefits the contrast was stark.

Anyway, I truly wish you all well. For those of you that think I'm fake, Good luck and enjoy Honeywell :)

Not sure if fake, but no details at all? That's kinda lame.

I'm not going to post details but get out there and find out for yourself. Every company I talked to had better benefits than Honeywell. The "we survey the industry and our benefits are competitive " story is about as true as the "all of Aerospace is in a downturn, not just us" story. Don't believe them - go find out for yourself. Good luck!

Would you be so kind as to ask which company has all these greater benefits?

Not saying that this is "impossible" or I am doubting, but I am looking elsewhere and would love to know of more options.
