If you think me not sharing information on here so hard working people at least have a chance to know what is coming, then you need to stay off this site and go bury your head in the sand with @unf - the other person here in denial.

Verizon has given me a great deal in life for sure, but I am sick and tired of under qualified and over paid VP's, ED's and Market Leaders pissing on the ones that make this company successful.

We pay millions to consulting firms to say cut here, eliminate there.

Remember, what happens in 2017 has been in the planning stages for years. These moves don't happen quickly.

With all that being said, 2017 will be a bloodbath. Save your money, update your resume and start networking.

If you're truly high within the company you'd be wise enough to not involve yourself in such discussions. Perhaps your sources need to reconsider their confidence.

Your post is a self fulfilling prophecy. All retail in all industries will one day be a thing of the past. By feeding such rumors you are compelling experienced, competent and successful vzw employees to bail out and save themselves befor the ship sinks. The new hires replacing them won't stand a chance and the fall of vzw will happen faster and more spectacularly than ever.

They are now saying Go90 is patient money. This is another way of saying it's missing its targets and none of the executives that sunk hundreds of millions into it will be held accountable.

AR = Authorized Retailer. Someone who sells Verizon but is not owned or operated by them.

Its all pretty much knowledge of the universe, there's only so much you can do with technology over earth's oxygenated air. Wireless is capped with the laws of science and it was hit in 2016. Wired has no cap, since its straight technology from originating source to end user. FiOS is the future, yet Lowell did his best to kill it off, due to his advanced age, and short term sightings. The golden parachute for Lowell isn't happening in 2040, he will be long dead. He only cared about the now, and he can retire a billionaire. What happens to VZ after he is living in the cayman isle, has no bearing on his future.

What does AR mean?

Wireless just hit it's saturation point. I remember when I first started working wireless there was a newspaper article that was posted showing future growth and in that article they predicted the saturation point as 2020. That was back in 1994 and with all the advances I am amazed just how close that prediction came.

Bottom line is this better matters means nothing if other service providers offer the same service but we charge twice as much. Price is what matters, then customer service from representatives that are here in the states who speak and understand English and not reading from scripts.

The FIOS is Kicking A$$.....The overtime is becoming unlimited...They are forcing overtime in the NYC boroughs....The Boston Build turning into FIOS to prem because the wireless 5G is a myth and doesn't work. The tried and true wireline is holding its own as always and earning cash with 12% expected growth next year. compared to wireless Zero 0%

It's funny. You regurgitated that "in the severance guide it says that stores who become retailers won't be offered severance" really quick, but if you actually read it instead of just picking up what someone on here said in a previous post, you'd know that is not what it says at all.

Your sources are jokes, they probably laugh at you behind closed doors at your reactions to when they share those "black and white" plans with you.

First half of 15 there was a meeting where McA spoke of how much inventory Wireless stores had compared against Alibaba. We had 1.6 billion vs their Zero. Nothing more was said on the subject. By the way it was said, you knew the Wireless stores were going to be phased out or greatly reduced.

Well, if you want to talk about retail, I'll tell you all the store closures that were supposed to happen earlier this year were delayed.

Negotiations are happening with specific AR's as we speak. Leadership has stated they want distribution to be through online, national retail and AR. I have seen this roadmap in black and white, it does really exist. So, if you think company owned retail has the same number of stores in the future as it does today, think again. Retail stores are expensive as are retail employees.

The timeline for company owned retail stores to be closed, or transferred to AR keeps shifting, but it will happen.

And I don't care if one market "blew their YOY out of the water" the reality is company owned retail is not needed with the number of doors Verizon has today. Period.

I don't know how to be more direct than this without revealing who I am or my sources. But get ready. It is coming. Retail is going to get gutted. People will loose their jobs. Stores will close.

This is the same song this board has sung since the end of 2015. You guys predicted layoffs at the start of 2016. Remember how all these stores were gonna be closed and all stores were going to be moved to one SM starting January 27th 2016?

They trimmed out one position in retail that they held onto for 3 years too long. Those ES folks did pretty much nothing day in and day out, some of them making 40-50k a year in salary to do what? Greet? Set up phones? Put accessories out?

If those people were "shocked" that they lost their jobs, then they lacked any sort of self awareness.

If we're comparing Q4 so far, stores blew their growth numbers out of the water for the month of November throughout the northeast in comparison to last year.

If you're gonna predict doom for all these people in retail, at least have something new and original, stop repeating the same crap over and over so when it maybe happens like 4 years from now, you can finally say you were right.
