Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Very simple way to increase productivity - have corporate work 5 days a week not 4

Walk round HQ a Friday, Hoffman or expensive state street, 70% of workforce will not be there they will be 'at home working' meaning relax. Sears you can check logs for productivity. I know this as I'm just getting ready for friends marathon for today with 2 bottles of wine to keep company and I'm paid for it :) it is a simple switch to make to increase hours people put in for our company

I don't know about other departments at Hoffman working from home on Friday's but my department (marketing) does and we work even harder because we all have over an hour's drive to work and are grateful for the WFH privilege. Some may abuse this but it has more to do with their own work habits and not because of a WFH day. I check email constantly, even on the weekends as do most of my colleagues. Sears may not survive, or may morph into a different business model but we're here to make whatever it becomes succeed.

I see it with sears management but I don't live it. I am MOD most of the time. I still work hard but only because I was brought up that way. I feel an obligation to do the effin job I was hired to do. It's not about Eddy, it's not about any company, it's about the people you work with and supervise and the end product you are selling.

The fish rots from the head down. I will not leave Sears off of my resume at all. In fact, I will use it as a resume builder and all of you should too.

Who's fault is it if an associate fails? Is it the associates fault or is my fault? That's right, it is my effing fault. OWN IT. But SEARED is beyond compare to me to this point in my life. I have never so many disgustingly ugly, no talent, rude and ignorant store managers in my life as I have seen at Sears.

Just brutal.

Disclosure: I am a AACM.

My condolences to all Sears/K-mart employees (other than Executive Level). A BK is clearly in the future. I expect a liquidation vs reorganization in as much as when the smoke clears. There will be very little to reorganize. Sears/K-mart for years was a preeminent retailer. Through case study stupidity executive management has destroyed this company. Fast Eddy will not save it. However, i do question how (if) he will try to repay himself for past loans at the expense of the general creditors and shareholders? Of course when the BK is filed, the shareholders are automatically wiped out anyway. Good luck to all. Get your resumes updated. 2017 will be epilogue.

You work 4 days? Really??

When I was still at Sears I barely had one day worth of work per week. Whether i was in the office or not...worked remotely 90% of the time...basically I think no one "avove" really cares...I did care though and got the hell out. Might sound like a great job getting paid to stay home and do nothing...but for me, both morally and for my career, this is not ideal at all!

...BTW before any complaints about me I begged for work...begged...nothing worse than sitting in the office with nothing to do...or working from home worried about your job everyday...although for a while I felt retired.
