Rumor has it that the company is starting to call back the 44 who were laid off in 2015 from western PA. Supposedly they are starting with 10. Hope the union isn't trying to take credit for this. I would suggest all the laid off workers coming back to refuse paying dues for representation that doesn't actually represent you. Why should anyone pay dues to an organization that did absolutely nothing when the company let them go without justification? If a lawyer represented you in the same manner, you would fire them!

Just another sign that wireless is dying and FiOS has re-become the future, otherwise these techs would never come back. The Union deserves -zero- credit for what is about to happen, instead credit sprint and T-Mobile for destroying vz wireless and forcing vz to recommit, begrudgingly, to wireline. Lowell must be crapping in his depends.
CWA Local 13000 said it so it must be TRUE. The UNION would NEVER lie, would they?

@2wvg....of course you were, that is a given. That is how it works in all unions. You were suspended but still an employee. Major difference there and yes they are still owed dues because you're a member. However the techs are different because they are not being given back pay. The are starting off from where they left off without back pay and are not considered employees during the in between period. You were however hence the dues taken from you. Read your contract, it is covered in there.
Not so fast, the union got me for six weeks back Union dues while I was suspended for a work issue. All at once, all out of the first partial check back to add insult to injury and embarrassment coming back. Thanks union, hope ya enjoyed the extra appetizers while my family ate ramen noodles for 6 weeks
Dumb conversation. Union does not collect dues while you are not an employee or even if you come back. You are not paid in back wages when the company calls you back so why would you pay dues? A lot of idiots who don't know nothing about union attempting to talk about union. Go sit down.
