Hated by others, always taking shortcuts, backstabbing people, good at power point and kissing management a--, no mentoring skills. Now in your 40s or 50s, who is going to hire you when Intel HR shows you the backdoor? Who?

Never feel sorry for Intel PEs. Over $200k/yr with minimal engr work. I know many PEs who became laughing stocks when trying to find work at other companies after Intel.
PE = Political Engineer, PowerPoint Engineer, Probably an Engineer
@KPQ4se1-1uxj Good gig making more than 300k as long as you are your GM /VP favorite or you become SOL pretty quick

Principal software engineer at Intel = Grad student at Google
Principal engineers are just staff level employees who managers can blame for their own stupid decisions, and this is often the case. I remember their was one principal engineer who injured his wrist while typing on his keyboard at 3 AM. Oh, the poor baby! Then he had a huge 3x5 poster drawn up about how he injured himself and how he was going to "correct" his work habits in the future to prevent ergonomic injuries. Yep. This is how they waste their and our time in Intel.
GR10 here after getting totally abused and finally phucked over by my VP and new short fat boss I can say if you are good many options. 100% offer to interview with compensation from 30% above total comp to 20% cut.
The question for anyone no matter the company are your skills relevant in the larger marketplace? Doesn't matter if you are grade 3 or grade 14+😉
@OP- everyone will be 40 or 50 someday, be kind not ugly. No matter what!
