Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Mass Layoffs... Are they actually happening?

Ive been keeping an eye on the number of employees in each cost center for the past few months and im seeing pretty much no fluctuation in the employees in the US.

Beginning of October 53623k employees

Beginning of November 53611k employees

Now 53627 employees.

Across the world the biggest decrease has been in india which has decreased by over 1000 in the same period of time.

So far, from what I have heard, "at risk" employees are being forewarned and are looking for new jobs, but no official layoffs have happened. I suppose that will reduce severance expenditures: scare them into laying themselves off.

If your Organization named as Solaris***, then your team will be gone entirely or 50% people will be layoff at least, this is what I found currently.

Yes and these kids piss off all our clients, more and more escalation of angry clients who are fed up with support and the experience that it doesn't have in the long run these client go away..... something to think about but Oracle has a very short vision

Yes, more expensive employees let go, older employees let go. Cheaper and younger ones coming in. You need to drill into very specific org's to see what is happening.

$150k employee let go, replaced with 2 $50k employees. $50k bonus to the top.

My bet is they will hire big time in Austin after a good size layoff in the next month or two in other areas. HW most likely the area that will be hit as rumors speculate.

The number does't reflect truth.

The fact is new hiring and layoff happen in the same time which will possibly keep the total numer not changing much.

Thanks for the data, I watch this too except I do it by VP instead of country

Small layoffs and a large number of people quitting has been commonplace in the US for the few years I've been here

The reason that the US number is relatively stationary is because of the class of program. Oracle hires 600 kids 3x per year and replaces any of them that quit

When older employees in unfavored departments like HW or acquired companies are laid off, the young kids take over their responsibilities

So employee count remains very stable or even increases, while cost per employee (and our revenue :D) goes down
