Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Is being a leader at SUO that bad?

I thought these guys made big salaries? Why are they quitting monthly? My campus had its CD resign yesterday, was down 2 AM's and my AM quit today. That's 4 positions. Where the hell are we going here? What does this role pay? WHY DO THEY ALL QUIT?

Paul is going to a school that isn't accredited and can't accept federal funding. Scum attracts scum. Too funny! b---s--- degrees that can't be used in the US.

He is taking his talents to The American University of Antigua. Will head all admissions in the NE. Will be working directly with schools that have nursing programs and will be recruiting future FNP students. Sweet gig. Only weekday travel and gets to go to Antigua twice a year for commencement. Starts Jan 9th but is staying here until Jan 3rd so that he has benefits for the month until new ones kick in. Lucky son of a b--ch

5ste - you aren't correct. I sit near where his old team sat. He was in the HR office twice. Other AR's were there in between. My guess, negotiating a severance because he's even with him being at the highest level on the a--hole scale he is smart. No way he goes quietly.

When I think of Paul I think of Steve opening one of those hatchable toys that no one can find. Steve rubs his and a little mini version of him pops out and it's PC. He's a selfish heartless prick that is only on his own agenda. He is a mini Steve that motivates with fear. The people on his current team hate him but play along for fear they will be fired. Take a look at them, he got a team of 8 last year and fired all but one of them. Gotta hit those numbers some way. God riddens to that no good piece of sh--.

I also worked for Paul for 3 years. During that time I wasn't brought to tears on a number of occasions and not because he made me cry but because I felt I was letting him and our team down when I didn't succeed. I agree with the statement that he can be direct but isn't that his job? I was given two managers when he was moved from our team and I hated every second I was there. I went from being excited to get to work every day to not being able to get out soon enough. If you have a good attitude and are passionate about the team he will always have your back and risk his own well being to defend someone who is doing the right things. He saved my job twice for what were innocent compliance issues. It is laughable the way that he was passed up on countless promotions. He is hands down the best leader in that building. Good for you Paul, you deserve better

Paul C was my manager for 4 years. We butted heads and he ultimately fired me for some compliance bull sh-- that Vic made him write up. He didn't yell but he held people accountable. I was the top rep on our team and was treated no differently than someone on the bottom. He made me better than I ever was and as much as it pains me to say it he is the most invested AM I had of the 4. He's intense but fair. I wish him well wherever he is going, that school got a good leader.

To whomever left the previous post, I call bull sh--. The environment he created was one that we all thrived in and it was never hostile. He made everyone better. The proof is in the fact that of that old team he had that consistently succeeded and led the floor no one remains. They hated the company but lived working with him. He was an asset and is to good for that place anyway. Know that I know this I will be reaching out to him to see if he wants to bring me along on his next journey. Good for him, he deserved better.

Paule C! I almost feel bad for the people that have to work for him at the next employer. Anyone know where he's going? He was the worst manager I ever worked with. He created such a hostile environment. He was always looking for the negative and getting people fired. No coaching just yelling. Somehow that seemed to apeal to Traci and Steve at South. Management 101 would have helped the three of them.

are these people quitting because they are going to shut down the college? They did something like this at ITT and the college was shut down and just locked up. i don't know if the people working got to stay but students were definitely not getting to go into their classes. not good

BAHSHAHAHHAHA new manager making 60k at SOU.... I make almost 70 and only been with EDMC for a year.... and not in management. If you make 60k and are management it goes to show how dumb you are. This made my day.

All EDMC companies (I hesitate to call them schools) are bad. Take the hint and get a different job somewhere doing anything else. Trust me, it will never get better and only worse. Normally, I am a positive person. Until I worked at AI...OMG that is a train wreck organization. Simply awful no matter how ya slice it. GET OUT NOW GET OUT NOW

They don't make enough to put up with the worst upper management. New managers make about 60k.

Their version of leadership development is having managers tell each other why they're failing in front of everyone. Vic is an a--hole and Ape doesn't speak. Whe. Upper management s---s no one wants to work for them.
