Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

INTC or NVDA?

Someone called Cramer today and mentioned a new division for Intel (autonomous driving) and wondered if he should buy INTC stock. Cramer eluded that Nvidia was better, even though he wasn't asked, with some sort of horse analogy (Intel is Secretariat and Nvidia is American Pharoah). I don't follow race horses but get the drift.

I'd have to agree with you there, @2fsk.

Thank you @1nzi. :)

BK gave a keynote at Automobility in November, you can watch it here: https://newsroom.intel.com/editorials/krzanich-the-future-of-automated-driving/.

To me it's very disjointed, cliche-filled and uninspiring, he says cars and IoT will make "data the new oil" and that one car will generate daily data to the cloud equivalent to 3000 people, presumably Intel benefits to sell more servers. It sounds like total nonsense to me.

There's more to the analogy than that. Secretariat was the greatest race horse of his time by a large margin. However he never produced any champion offspring after that. Get it now?

chuckle I was wondering what you were talking about @1hej. I almost asked why you were posting that on my thread and not creating your own. It makes sense now. It certainly was a WTH moment though. lol

Thanks for the laugh! :D

I sure didn't get the drift as well as I thought I did @1tjo. LOL I did a qucik Google and figured AP was simply 'better'. I didn't realize Secretariat was dead. lol (laughing at the situation, not that the horse is dead.) :(

Thank you for your analogy. :)

Wow @ Cramer. face palm

Clear analogy - Secretariat is long dead and buried; American Pharaoh is alive and reproducing.

Nivdia will have TSMC,Samsung and maybe GF to decide for 7nm manufacturing. Intel will be dragged down by cost of Intel manufacturerimg which is now stuck at 14 and will be late for 10amd 7nm. One node lead is huge!

Funny ARM and foundry scale is doing to Intel what Intel did to Motorola, IBM and others. We all know how that worked out for them 😉
