Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

And next year looks like...

Darius has sent out his "key priorities" for 2017, and it sounds very much like the beatings will continue. "All employees should continue to minimize discretionary spend (sic)." Guess what, vacation is now discretionary, not an earned benefit. We should roll out new products in hours, not weeks or months. Yeah, that sounds like fun.

What I took from our new leader's inspiring email:

1) Continue to move everything overseas

2) You lazy current employees take way too long to make complex aerospace products. Design them in hours instead of months or years.

3) We, the current managers s---, are weak, not driven, not willing to push the organization and oh by the way, need to make more loads more money for the company.

Yes, it sounds delusional.

Got mine today. HBT mandatory furlough. Who cares that I work 60+ hour weeks, I'm one of the few that hustle to respond to customers and actually make things work. Updating resume this weekend.

Management should remember this, if they haven't thought of this already: "Arrogance breeds contempt." Merry Christmas Dave. NOT

Sorry darius. You've already RIFd most of the talent and the remaining employees have now run out of fvcks to give. How will any of this work when most people are spending their day looking for ways out of HON?

It doesn't take long to gain a reputation for dumping on employees, but it takes decades to develop the kind of loyalty that Cliff Garrett engendered. What we're all watching now is the remnants of Mr. Garrett's company being flushed down the toilet, and I'm about to become one of the chunks.

The key to all this is that long-term thinking (employee loyalty matters) is long gone. They want me and everyone like me to hit the road, sooner rather than later. I've sold my life to this place continuously since 1980 and off-and-on since 1968. It's like watching a slow-motion train wreck.

Our engines are still excellent, but the people who manage those who produce them are not. We're now a software company, and those pesky mechanical bits are far more trouble than they're worth.

That is all.

All that says is that the management slave beatings will continue until we hit double growth percentages. Big bye vacation!

Retired now for several years. I still remember the time I tried to set up a matching grant to my college. Nope. Couldn't find it. Cote had quietly done away with that. Cote did proudly announce support for college kids in India. Employees in the US have been labeled "high cost" for years, with all new hires directed to "low cost" regions like India, China, Mexico, Czech Republic unless there is a very pressing need to hire in the US. Cote is a greedy ba$$tard who has no qualms about bleep canning Americans. Shameful, but all too typical of "American" (actually now "international") corporations. I wonder if Trump or Congress will do anything about this.

Is it just me or does Darius sound delusional? Not recognizing we have a problem is the problem. We can't sustain growth due to all the cuts, layoffs, furloghs, de-incentivization, morale, poor quality, and lack of investment in the workforce. Honeywell need to revisit whatever model the are simulating and making decisions from, and include the human factor to it. Without prople we can't grow. The workforce has lost all motivation and everyone is planning their exit. Honeywell has not been faithful to us, why should we be faithful to Honeywell.

Same Old :

We want this and that.

We offer absolutely nothing.

Honeywell is no longer percieved as employer you want to work for or stay in.

Cuts went to far and the downward spiral can be stopped only by change of attitude towards employees.

As much as many can't wait for Dave to be searching for starfish on the new oceanfront island lot, be careful what we wish for. You ain't seen nothing yet...DA may very well give Neutron Jack a run for his money by the time the destruction of Honeywell is complete.

Hahaha I just read his email. We must bring new products to market? Why? Everyone know we produce schit products at outrageous prices. We refuse to fix known issues on existing products, so why would any customer buy something new?

Second point. HON has been driving out top talent for years now. Engineers with 30 years experience are being forced out left and right. Who is going to design all this new product? The brand new guy fresh out of MSU or ASU? No. You see dairyass, your butt buddy David has crippled this company. You can't have it both ways; you cant RIF everyone AND have double digit growth. HOS doesnt work and you will finally see this in 2017.

Merry RIFmas!
