Sales goals are probably biased on what the stores need for the company to be profitable and not necessarily realistic goals.
My favorite part of working at Sears is the incredible bonus structure. If your store makes 6 million this year your goal for next year is 20 million, ( when there has been declines 15 years in a row)... and the raise structure is nothing short of amazing, at the end of your first year you get zero dollars, after 2 years you get zero dollars but when you hit your 10th and 20th year you also get something very special, Zero dollars.
