Seems lots of Network wireline IT teams are nowadays pedalling so called solutions to wireless networks. If these solutions are so great why did you now implement them in wireline and make it profitable?? Beware that these guys are trying to take wireless jobs and push us wireless old-timers out.

Wireline IT....Too funny! I was Wireline IT, probably did a lot of work years ago that is still used today and that stuff was outdated when we did it. Systems are flawed, data integrity is at an all time low and forget the crap we send to the PUC and FCC, it's information we send that is altered, not in the way that we make it look the way we want but in a way that we reduce the amount of bad that can occur for the results we publish. Associates doing IT work from the call centers, Sales force publishing data into the systems from spreadsheets, its chaos it what it is. In fact Wireline IT worked with Wireless to obtain their system structure because it ran so well. It was very bragged upon by the Executives and now their is rumors that they want Wireline IT running things?????? Someone in charge has connections with various vendors, bottom line.
@1ebw, I agree
Some of these wireline IT managers and directors are notorious for having a very cozy relationship with their IT vendors. Maybe the VZ ethics team needs to look into these relationships.
The problem is that automation will cost most of us our jobs... wireless and wireline.
What is the saying? History is bound to repeat itself?

@uuy - Verizon will go out of business before any substantia IT is brought back onshore. The boat is sinking and there is nothing Lowell or anyone else can do to stop it. Besides, Lowell could care less. He's made himself very rich at the expense of American citizens and taxpayers.
I know first hand that wireline IT managers are managing wireless IT employees now, at least in the Northeast. It could be they just brought them in to rif us too, as that is also what happened in the Northeast about a month later.
Wireline innovation was destroyed by off shore IT and will destroy wireless too with their ineptitude. Exec directors are finally noticing and is why you are seeing a push for dev ops and more sdn/programming pushes for wireline engineers.
@ovx....You are 100% correct. (All wireline and wireless IT will be done offshore) Plan already in place and has been gradually implemented for over 10 years. .
Good to be union!
If the wireline it guys are such innovative people why did they not innovate in wireline. They messed up wireline networks and will mess up wireless network now.
Soon enough it won't matter. All wireline and wireless IT will be done offshore. The only onshore IT people are simply puppets and tea servers
Not a Director... wait for it... A UNION MEMBER! GASP! Just looking to squeak out 15 more years so that I can retire. That's not going to happen with the current stagnation and failed ideas at VZ.
That last post about us vs them seems to be from a director or above. Standard kool aid stuff. Coz they make the big moolah
Someone needs to look into the coziness between the it employees and the it vendors.
This post is just another reason why Verizon is in decline. Us vs. Them. The devided culture used to work because Verizon, try as they did, couldn't help but to make money. Things are different nowadays and it's going to take the best from both sides of the house to come up with innovative products to keep this ship afloat. And leadership change from the top down, but we all know that isn't happening.
Nobody cares
