Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Inbound orders cancelled at DC?

I work at one of the Kmart DC 's, was told today that many inbound loads for January have been cancelled. We are the slowest I have seen it in 30 years at the warehouse. We are at 47 % capacity. Building is more than half empty. The last 3 weeks we have been down to 4 days a week. Lack of work codes come daily. This company is in serious trouble.

We must have 15 kayaks in our store... we are nowhere near a river or ocean to use them.

I guess my store is an exception, but we continue to be loaded with excess inventory. Fashions, edible/consumables, housewares, H you name it, we have it. I have yet to see any garden freight come in but patio sets have always arrived during the last week of the CY. If not, that's ok - we have a number of Serta mattresses that members can place atop of their new "outdoor" full-size refrigerator, electric range stove, dresser, or desk to enjoy the fresh air on their decks. And if it rains hard, we have many kayaks to choose from to survive Armageddon.
