Yes, I am aware the QMTs were unceremoniously dismissed during that purge. We lost several talented, hardworking and well liked QMTs in our district at that time. Believe me when I say, that at our store the QMTs were viewed as fellow coworkers who fulfilled an important roll in keeping our store operational. After the purge, their absence was lamented and they were missed. They were part of our Sears family as well.

I did not have time for tears. I was given a 4hr notice by conference call that my job had been eliminated after working 38yrs.

When our store closed the "goon squad" consisted of just one person. He was a very nice gentleman and everyone seemed to get along with him very well. After all, he is just there to do a job; it was Eddie that actually caused our store to close. While the liquidation process kept us busy, the actual work was less strenuous and stressful than when the store was in normal operating mode. Of course, it was painful to watch our store dissolve away. The worst part came at the end when you had to say goodbye to your fellow coworkers. The tears really flowed at that point!

Resumes? Do I include my time at Sears? Or do I go through with it?. It actually isn't my first time with a store closure. I am not going to help with a store closure unless my wages are doubled and paid in advance. SHLD will pay one way or another if they have to hire outside help. Sears is likely to pay outside contractors triple if not if not quadruple. I have cash in the bank.

I heard they had a goon squad that they bring in anyway.

Bailed on this company years ago.

Gave myself a nice raise the day after I jumped ship.

And retired comfortably as a result of my move.

There's life after Sears folks.

Time to freshen your resumes.
