Can QMT's Still Buy From Grainger?

I was wondering if the QMT's can still buy from Grainger? When I was a QMT we had our own id and could go online and purchase needed supplies for building repairs and they would be sent to the store. We would buy supplies almost daily. I do know that the QMT's are no longer servicing some stores, repairs have been turned over to the store staff. Bet that is working out well. Grainger has also closed some of their locations across the country. Myself and other QMT's across the country had our jobs eliminated the first of the year.

I am a currently a QMT and corporate just told us that we had to go back to the old way of using the stores credit card to make purchases but we have to get the store managers approval first. I can see this will be a problem because stores will have to answer for each and every purchase. They say it's to control expenses better I think it's because Grainger is not extending credit anymore and wants to be paid for every transaction in case of bankruptcy.

As of last Friday. Qmts have gone back to using the Pcard. They can not use the Ariba site without the P card. They have to get the Pcard for every store they go to. PITA.

I am not looking to purchase from Grainger or anyplace else. I was just wondering if Sears had stopped the practice of the QMT's buying supplies due to cutbacks.

Been buying from Grainger ever since I left, years ago. The "discount" you were getting? Just about every other business out there was getting a similar or better price from their Grainger account rep.

Ditto the National light bulb account.

McMaster-Carr is another "we sell it all" source, that will work with you.

These businesses all have "City counters" for ordering and pick up, and do heavy business on their websites.

I'm retired now, but still find myself doing side jobs in HVAC and other disciplines of work.

My best source?

Google.
