Why isn't anyone talking about the meetings in Pittsburgh yesterday?

What about the Marblegate appeal? Any news from Law 360? EDMC must be spending a bundle on fighting that one. But as the corporate expression goes millions for defense and not a penny for tribute.

I wonder how in the hell they're operating as well.... It doesn't make sense. Smells fishy to me.

The meetings yesterday with Gavlik are further indication that he and his "assistants" (Hough and Knittle) have no business experience whatsoever, and are simply spitting in the wind. My opinion, which means nothing to them since they are the geniuses, and who, by the way, don't even bother to lower themselves to acknowledge us, we are simply... WAIT! (what, simply are we? What is our title anyway? Before I arrived it was ADAs, then AR's, then SA's and now AR's again???... no wonder we are not meeting Gav's expectations. We don't even know what or who we are... Maybe a ping pong team...) So, back to my waste of a human life opinion... From what I understand there have been soooooo many people who have gone thru this place, people with more experience in business than Gav's Guys combined. But Gav is sooo full of himself that he cannot even recognize talent and experience when it slaps him in his frowning face. So we will continue on until they lock the doors; we will continue to do our best to help our students be successful; and we will continue to watch good people get booted on phony compliance gaps. However, the ones who are hurt the most in Gav's half baked schemes "let's look at the numbers, this didn't work, let's try something else"... cough um, Gav... we tried this before, remember? "yes, but that other one, I didn't really like it anyway. This one makes more sense, don't you agree?" are the students.. (You know, the ones who will be hurt the most?) I love my students, and always wish them the very best as I do my best to help them. But dang.... If I were a student here I would think the ship's rudder was stuck and we're all just sailing in circles.

Please tell me again how EDMC is operating?

In mid-2014, EDMC was so far in the hole financially that bankruptcy seemed imminent (-$284M with $1.3B+ in debts). In 2014, the only substantial asset they had was cash (about $500M), but that all must be gone now. In 2015, they also were obligated an additional $200M in fines and repayments. On top of that, they must have about $800M in lease obligations. More recently, the deal with Amity has collapsed. We also know that 19 Art Institutes and at least 22 Brown Mackie Colleges will be ghost towns in 2017 and no later than 2018.

KKR is a business, not a charity. I can't believe they have anything else they can sell.
