Speaking of headcount , when vz first started the union was 85k strong , now its down to about 40k 16 years later . That's a huge drop, but still a voice together is still stronger than one. 40k stood up for their jobs and 40k are still employed. Me I tried to stand up for negative treatment and 60 unanswered internal applications and Mis treatment and was the first to get axed. Wireless employees , wake up and join the union, protect your jobs while u still can.

You are the one that is incorrect. The 6.500 were fired. Get your terminology straight. When an employee is laid off, there is the chance that he or she may be called back to work, usually based on job requirement and seniority.

I don't recall a lot of retiring and negotiating and those numbers don't reflect employees replaced because of age or health by a lot of new people that don't speak English very well. Good luck to everyone hoping to keep their job and better days ahead to those who are hoping to get the severance.
