Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

No team is safe

No team is safe once the hack the groups down they will reorganize and consolidate. The point now I to gain as much efficiency as possible to compete on price. It's big hill to climb and profits and revenue are slipping with the transition to cloud.

Oracle is years behind the competition so market share is going to be hard to capture and erosion of traditional database business because of many new options puts oracle in a real bad spot. If I was Oracle CEO I would get out the systems vertical strategy it has not been helpful small amounts of sales and so much thrown into R&D with little ROI.

MH will sink the ship he thinks Oracle is a hardware company. It's been a software leader but it won't with MH and his ex HP cronies. I give it 2-3 years and massive size reduction. No sustainable long term strategy. Change mindset to think short term.

They're just flailing around right now, smashing jobs, even profitable ones, trying to get a foothold with their inferior cloud offering. When the dust finally settles Oracle will be a shadow of its former self.

The idea is good, sale it as package ( software and hardware together) , problem is no one wasn't the hardware and the software getting worst, that is the problem.

If you want to be safe, go work for team that support a lot stuff 7x24 and you are the only one in the region.
