Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Employee Survey

Been a month and still no results. The feedback must have been horrible.

Still waiting. If it was so important you would think they would share something. Won't waste my time with stuff like this again.

You know that obscure little serial number that's found somewhere in the survey? Maybe it's now encrypted into that personal code they provide you to start the survey. Well, that little code is tied to your name. They know who you are as soon as you enter the first page of the survey. So, best fall back on being cynical. Don't trust giving your honest opinions in the survey if your critique is negative. That will get you blacklisted and out the door sooner or later.

With all the low performers gone. There will be a new group of people who will be forced into low rank positions and cut. 3 or 4 years of trimming the low rank people will get Chevron back in shape. No one is safe.

Yeah, me too. I always looked upon the opportunity to provide feedback as a duty I had, as an honest and sincere employee, with no other intent than to help improve thing's. I was let go, too. Probably just coincidence. But, in today's World,... who can blame ANYONE for being cynical?

I was always open and honest in my employee survey responses for many years. Who knows if that put me on the blacklist somewhere. Ultimately, I was laid off, but I doubt it had anything to do with the honest responses I gave in the annual employee surveys.

With so many avenues for feedback to Corporate, ie., this site, for one,... why does Chevron feel the need to run a survey? Especially since it's a given that each individual's response(s) can be traced right back to them? Chevron is, essentially, asking this question: Look,... we know you're all frightened, threatened, untrusting, and afraid of losing YOUR job,... especially since you've sat by watching thousands of your co-workers layed off. But, now we're REALLY interested in your feedback! We want to know How We Can Be Better. What Are We Doing, Wrong. Go ahead! Don't worry! It's all "confidential"! (Shhhhhhh. Just your supervisor and BCG will know.)

Results are out. Not so bad. The survey response optimism seems to track oil prices, not surprisingly. Some of the comments were quite interesting. Millenials were relatively more unhappy with pay and position - what a shocker.
