Trump is a Business Man! I bet as soon as he said that, his phine rang all n ight form companies that hire H1Bs... He is not going to change anything ..or worse case , when he said he will bring "back" jobs, it will be the $1-$2 a hour jobs being done in China, and 10$ a hour by "college educated" Indian IT workers.
Santa Claus Trump came to town and promised the less than smart jobs, jobs, jobs! If you think he's going to create 21mil jobs as promised - you've been chewing too much tobacco. He's going to soon learn it will take a mountain to turn things around. To give tax breaks to companies doesn't mean they will hire. If they're like VZ, they need to pay down debt and do reinvestment for assets. There are industries that are gone or declining. Hillbillies need to upskill, re-tool and start looking for jobs in up and coming industries - wind, solar, etc. There are opportunities to scale back on the H1B program as companies have gone overboard with trying to hire cheap labor and VZ is part of the problem. Let's wait and see what Trump delivers...he's a one term Prez!!
President-elect Donald Trump is assembling some of the most conservative opponents to illegal immigration for his transition into the White House.
Kris Kobach, Kansas' Secretary of State, who is a champion of tough anti-illegal immigration laws and ideas, has been hired for Trump's transition team.
"There's going to be a lot to do there in part because Mr. Trump and Mr. Obama are diametric opposites when it comes to immigration policy," Kobach told Kansas' KWCH. "So there will be a lot of changes."
President Obama was unable to get passed comprehensive immigration reform during his term, but he passed two executive actions that exempt DREAMers and their families from deportation.
In Trump's 10-point immigration plan, he says he will "cancel" the executive orders.
Kobach was the architect of Arizona's SB 1070 law which allows law enforcement to ask people for to prove their immigration status when there is "reasonable suspicion" that they might not be in the country legally. He also coined the idea of "self-deportation," which would make immigration laws so stringent that it would encourage people to leave the country.
Did anyone notice that trump has a Verizon lobbyist on his transition team in charge of the FCC. Day 3, another backtrack on a promise. No wall, adding to the swamp, keeping parts of obamacare, won't prosecute Hillary......I have not seen much news yet today.

Zuckerberg convinced Trump there is no way to get American IT talent. Trump is going to blow the H1B door wide open.
Trump's position on H1B's is to increase the prevailing wage paid to H1B workers to put pressure on US companies to hire domestic talent.
That will do nothing to drive them out as long as the majority of hiring IT managers are Indians, themselves, and will be happy to pay them more.
No, Trump needs to tell Congress to tighten up the laws and make employers prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the H1B's are truly bringing in the skills that Americans lack.
Paying them more is a horrible solution and only goes to illustrate Trump's limited knowledge of how bad the situation is.
By the time Trump has a chance to do anything, Verizon will have moved all operations to their new walled, Vatican-like City enclave in Bombay, Texas where they will be immune from all US law. Lowell will become Pope and Shamoo will become a saint after his kisses Lowell's ....... feet I guess.

Only time will tell. I am not opposed to having a diverse culture. However, there has been unprofessional behavior by non-American personnel in this company, some bordering on criminal behavior.
