SUO "Career Services" in shambles. Director gone!

What will happen to SUO with no Director of Career Services? The department that is supposed to set the students up for success is in shambles and the Director was walked out yesterday.

There was an AR from AIO that had a compliance gap recently that had a high salary due to her being from the matrix era. They deemed it a level 4 (most severe) and fired her. What she did was a simple mistake that MANY ARs have made and gotten a warning or at MOST a write up. They fired her simply because of her salary. It's no secret that AIO is hurting for $....they couldn't even hire a much needed manager for finance because they didn't have the budget for it.

It's downright unethical and terrible what upper management is doing...f**k you Elder Monday.

2cqx, do tell more. What strategies are being employed to fire veteran adas? Compliance violations? Management instigating fake HR investigations? Bullying? I'd be interested to learn more about this if anyone has insight.

Most of those matrix owners shouldn't have been there. They had an old world view that got the company into this mess to begin with. They needed to go.

@Kioejkk-2cqx are you saying that EDMC management is becoming more ethical?

This is all a part of the systematic dismantling of the Pittsburgh EDMC campuses. There was a person who worked here for years, who contended that the number one assignment for the top managers at Ai, AUO and SUO was to focus on and fire the top earners on their respective campuses. Many of those targets were from the old matrix setup. It didn't matter how many students they enrolled or graduated since it is simply a part of that systematic dismantling. Since the Pittsburgh campuses will eventually be closing, and if those who are left at the end receive severance, as Ai employee received, the objective is to downsize the staff to a skeleton leaving only the lowest earners, thereby minimizing EDMC's exposure. Good business sense but really shows no concern for the people who built the place.
