Allocating more power to the states means more corruption. In the end, less money goes to education and more money finds its way into back pockets of political hacks. If money to the states is provided in block grants, education becomes an ongoing train wreck. There's no accountability and no good way to keep track of anything.
I know. I worked for the state for a couple of years. From the top on down, it's a cesspool of corruption.
So I say keep the DOE. At least we can more easily keep track of where the money's going and how it's being used. It's easier to isolate problems in the system. It's easier to point to a guilty party in case funds go missing. I could go on.
Give all power to the states and you can pretty much flush education for the masses down the toilet.
Drain the swamp!
Yeah. I'll believe it when I see it. Once a bureaucracy gets entrenched, it's awfully hard to get rid of. Wasn't Trump going to get rid of Obamacare too? And how about building that wall? How's that going? There will be lots of huffing and puffing but I bet the Dept of Education will be around a lot longer than EDMC will.
Please let this happen. The states should be in charge of edu. Not politicians in Washington. Hopefully this can get rid of standardized testing.
The Department of Education should be dismantled, they are not doing their jobs as it is. Apparently, they s--- so bad that H1b people are considered qualified for well-paying jobs while our own citizens are told they are skilless morons. Supposedly these same skilless morons are also in ridiculous levels of debt, trying to get a worthless piece of paper that apparently doesn't qualify them to do anything.
I hope Trump holds them accountable for the horrible job they have done.
Smells like America is going to be great again.
interesting... this is the craziest of times, I must say.
