Tech jobs make up 12% of the jobs in US do the math. China and India will eclipse our tech in just a few years. They will dominate the server cloud market and software they have massive brain power to do it. Nothing we have is really new that they can't do as well or better include R&D and maybe especially. They must own the phd market. Our dominance is this kind of tech is on it's way out. What will the future look like is anyone's guess.

Actually it is Congress that sets tariffs. And they hate Trump's guts.
He certainly can increase tariffs on products from US companies that bring products back into this country. That shouldn't have to be something he needs to rewrite trade agreements. NAFTA is a whole other issue.
If you think Trump can and will do what he said, you are dreaming. You know they are lie and said what people want/like to hear, and they won't do it. Let see what happen to the wall between USA and Mexico.
Chinese made most of the gears. Indians are writing codes. What don't You get? Game over USA! Trump is your only hope.
