Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Just in time for the holidays, yet another confusing fios commercial that only about 10% of consumers care to understand.

When is this leadership team going to realize that PRICE is the only thing that matters to today's consumer when it comes to home entertainment and wireless service? 9 out of 10 customers wouldn't notice a difference if they were receiving 25/25 data speeds or 150/150. Whatever happened to the kid who looked into the back of the fios van and saw the incredible light?

All the " free advertising" in the world is not helping VZW right now.

The issue with Sprint is that every time they mention Verizon in a commercial they are paying $1.8 million/ not per commercial replay but per commercial. For you uneducated coworkers from the 1990's with GED's that means if they launch a national commercial in which they mention Verizon's name 3 times they pay Verizon $5.4 million. Also for Verizon it is free advertising and equates to about $375k per commercial play, no publicity is bad publicity.

That's why they have marketing departments to handle this and do not leave it to commoners. Take a look at the bottom line, as it has grown since June when Sprint launched their national campaigns mentioning Verizon.. Your jobs are safe

I have to give props to Sprint, they have really made a comeback and the commercials speak directly to the Millennials, the group that Verizon has built their whole Business Model around but can't seem to get their business. Maybe Wireless needs to turn to Sprint for some fresh new ideas. Looks like there will be more downsizing soon.

You get the feeling that Sprint & T-Mobile will be a major draw on VZW this holidays. Thus the major RIFs and consolidation going on across the company.
