H graphics team is in better position than where Q was 5 years back. Bunny built the team by hiring large number s3 folks who worked hard to build a good team. He can do the same for H. Btw, most Chinese in Q graphics have gc. ED/CK single handedly destroyed the team bunny built for Q. I am sure H politics is no where as bad to Q politics and they can build better drivers than Q as bar is pretty low.
As far as i know H doesnt/can't sponsor H1B visas, so........the chinese gang from Q systems gpu will have a hard time transferring, unless most of them already have green cards.
wow you guys..... airing out the qcom gpu dirty laundry for all to see i guess. Really no point in the name calling and borderline racist comments though, we are all adults here. I am one of the few that has worked in both huawei and qualcomm graphics teams. Here are my two cents. I have to say i am very surprised the g.o.l.f joined huawei. Some terrible crap really must have went down on the Q gpu systems/hw side of things for him to want to leave. But him coming to H, he will have to deal with the politics in addition to the lack of graphics talent. If you think Q lacked graphics talent, then you will be in for a nightmarish surprise. And that mini-driver is just used for testing purposes, for anyone to think that it can be a commercial driver shows a lack of knowledge of Android, and also a lack of knowledge of what a commercial driver has to be.
OP, if he gets into agreement with Huawei that both companies will not poach each other employees then he will win this battle and ppl will suffer under him.
Just an advice, if you plan to go to huawei, don't tell anyone where you are going, ed neither HR can stop you unless you say where you are going....

90% of director and sr director in gfx HW org. are corrupted, politicians. They are overheads to team with no contributions ( except forward emails, editing team outing pics ).
ed has created this whole corrupted culture and unnecessary hierarchy.
in name of hierarchy, the contribution of actual working people is eaten by other people and right rewards never reach to deserving candidate.
what ever engineer or sr. engineer does its automatically goes as accomplishment to staff , sr.staff and director. many sr.staff are just showing others work as their accomplishments and got promoted to director. principal.
this has to end , there should not be any hierarchy, every one should contribute individually.
I would say, remove all mafia type VP's and directors and it might become better....add diversity to all teams and remove immediately useless paper pusher people.

Qcom gpu is smaller than others. But this won't mean anything in the future

HW team can write faster driver than software team ? you mean that sh-- piece of unnecessary mini driver code which is maintained just to have more head count under chinese director...any kid can write such driver which has no quality, coding style.
adreno is on par with previous generation of apple. every year when new iphone come, we dissect it to find why its better than our latest GPU and then work hard to make next gen better. but by then apple comes with newer version.
