Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Why do they take so long to get the RIF pain over with?

They always promise "We will move as quickly as possible through the process and do our best to inform

affected employees as soon as possible". You'd think that they will be becoming proficient at it, given the frequency. It seems like they are enjoying the pleasure of torturing us for as long as possible. This not helping anyone; us or them.

This whole re-org along with the RIFs is so screwed up. There is no structure, no information releases, nothing. People are left out dangling in the cold. This is the second re-org in under 2 years, last year to the CoE and now this and all along with RIFs then and even worse now.

This past Friday about everyone at our site who wasn't RIF'd found out their new structure. While my (now ex-) manager (who's demoted to engineer) and my team members all have their new positions ... I am still left in the cold. At this time I have no idea if I get RIF'd next week or who I may report to in the future ... I have NO information whatsoever. Great job Honeywell, truly!

Can I safely assume that my batch still work in the morning so I can enter the building and go to work?

Because everyone should be in the RIFmas spirit all year long! Not just around the holidays.

HR in CLW has reserved some conference rooms for Tues 11/30. Can't say for sure that it's for the RIF but seems timing could be right.

No Stress - I would just say "Thank You". I've been here to long to just leave. But it wouldn't be a bad thing. There are LOTS of jobs out there.

Because it does exactly what youre saying; it induces stress. Honeywell WANTS us all to quit or die. They want us to leave voluntarily so they dont need to pay us benefits. If you think this is incorrect, ask yourself how anything theyve done to the employees the last 5 years is aimed at retention. The pay cuts, benefit reductions, furloughs, constant RIFs, elimination of working from home, vacation elimination, etc. These are all actions to directly drive attrition. The sooner we all quit or die, the sooner all our jobs can be offloaded to some 3rd world shthole and Dave can get paid.
