Some of the Indians that are Americans got nicked last year also. They don't care - if you make too much money, think the hours are unreasonable, rubbed someone the wrong way - out you go. With the revolving door above - you never know when the person protecting you is getting switched or Riffed. It's the stuff that ulcers are made of.
I got a call from my VZW buddy in NJ Warran 30, 2 Indian folks got RIF-ed. When I was there, there did nothing and sat on their desk all day. Both had family relations with Sr. Directors and got hired on Sr. positions probably because of those contacts in the first place. Last to last year most of the RIFs in NJ were Americans as far as I remember. Probably its the same case this year as well.

If you want a lot of calls about anew position just change your name to an Indian name on your resume and your phone will ring off the hook!
Wonder what the % of layoff is and the % of non-Indians targeted by the RIF. Things don't smell right!
