I consulted at VZW for about an year before quitting and moving to a better position with better pay. One of my old employee buddy called and told me our old team had 2 guys RIF-ed from NJ Warren 30. I am glad I quit at a good time. Most of IT is run by uneducated fools who just want to please their boss and wont do any real Job. Too much politics by Indian Thugs. Full disclosure , I am an Indian immigrant as well.

It is pretty incredible that there's been no news about this. Rumors had the number at about 6000, though of course that's not credible. Meanwhile, AOL laid off 500 and that did make headlines. Makes you wonder..

I am an ex-Verizon employee who stays in contact with my former coworkers. Verizon has rifs all the time . I was rif'd last year. There was a big rif today in IT. I personally know several people who lost their jobs today. This is not some made-up fairytale! I lived it and a lot of other Verizon employees have been affected.
