Qualcomm first 5G modem sampling in 2017. First standard in 2018 and initial rollout in 2018/19.
Really looking forward to hearing what the leaders Intel are going to show shortly.
She was the last time you saw anything from intel competence that wasn't x86 for pc or server?
BK and team will get heads, a$$, and gonads handed to them if they compete in any space where there is competition and intel has no barrier for others entry.
Look back at intel history, they haven't won or even lasted more than a product generation anywhere!

Murthy and Aicha have nothing to show for in 5G. They can't even get a decent LTE modem out on Intel process. QCOM will eat their lunch and then some.
Smoke and mirrors, modems will be like tablets and cellphones. Intel comes with lots of marketing and x86 legacy. Everyone must treat the threat as real and respect and respond to all the blistering and marketing from CEO.
But like tablets and cellphones when intel really still had silicon leadership what eventually showed uP was $hit.
Why would anything be different now? Better silicon in analog, that is laughable, better design how so ?
