been here 11 years. no one is safe. CEO of optumhealth broke all records on targets and laid off the next year. culture of fear..even more so than greed. began with SH and remains the only true culture. key is to keep switching roles so the lay off don't catch up to you. fortunately I am set and can retire (55). key is to keep your expenses down everyone and keep your option open.
My position was eliminated. I was a Culture Ambassador, Innovation Ambassador, and Relationship Ambassador. The HR team is awful. Every Culture Value is trashed. The most egregious malefactors are left behind. The stock price is in record territory. The moronic manager calls you by your first name. This puts your brain in neutral. Stand up. Litigate. Use the justice system. Be fearless. Hold management's nose to the Culture Values. A demoralized workforce is highly inefficient. The manager will read the statement, Optum will cut your access 12 minutes later, your colleagues will be notified and intimidated, the severance package will arrive via UPS late the next day, the HR meeting is a joke and you can take it or leave it. The Better the stock does - the more malignant the workplace becomes.
Just look at all the visits and posts here - you will notice that there are many unhappy people here and many examples of work that's offshored and folks laid off.
No one is safe. Don't fool yourself.
Uh, you do know that you have coworkers all over the country that work as hard as or harder than you do, right??
safe in Minneapolis - seriously?! Tell that to do MN people that have been laid off after years of hard work and overtime.
Don't be so sure! Cost-cutting layoffs are coming soon! Wake up to the fact and don't get caught sleeping
