If I work from a house boat in San Diego Bay, does that qualify as offshore?

News is correct. San Jose office will cease, and Wifi will be managed out of CSR locations. All remaining SW not offshored yet will be offshored. There will be no SW done in the US anymore. Smartphone development will continue in San Diego, but all support activities will be offshore. QC will continue to push all expenses offshore, including project management.

news is right , it will not be done in large scale like last time. layoffs will happen but in small chunks.

I call BS. Nothing happens until NXP deal is cleared. To do otherwise could violate law and jeopardize deal per SM. Let alone the fact that it doesn't make QCOM look good in the eyes of European regulators.
