Molina Healthcare Layoffs 2017

I know that this sounds like a broken record (cliché, but a good one)…. Rumors - some folks are talking about possibly having layoffs in Long Beach.

My UM position was eliminated back in the October at Molina Ohio and I’m still searching for a position. Higher level positions are difficult to come by in Ohio and particularly this time of year. Additionally the bad UM reputation Molina had created is making it even more difficult!

I was laid off a couple weeks ago in MI. Have already secured employment at a great organization. I would encourage the remaining employees to actively seek employment elsewhere as it appears Molina's plan is to work extremely lean, get the books cleaned up and sell. I find it amazing that positions that were "eliminated" over that past few weeks and are now posted in Indeed. Getting rid of experienced employees and hiring inexperienced people makes zero sense to me. But....not my concern....I've moved on.

Multiple Layoffs today in Molina here in Florida. There is so much tension and low morale now. No one knows what to expect or how to feel about seeing their co-workers walked out in less than 10 minute after a webex meeting with HR and Managment. They say more layoffs are to come in the next couple of weeks and months. Its just very stressful now. No one is able to really focus on work anymore, because they are afraid of their jobs.

Transition of care coaches fired in California - 6 in Long Beach, 4 in the inland empire. Some together at the same time, something is totally off.

Yes -- South Carolina is basically gone except for the big wheels and their friends. Crazy unhappiness surrounds the entire office and the commercials on TV don't help by saying "Molina Cares."

Listen fact the rate of non-whites being laid off is much greater than whites so truth be told it's the Trump reality. So save me the it impact all if your blonde and blue eyes you got a job period . The decision to elimate jobs I get that but the racial component in deciding who's going is again a Factual Reality. And if you think it's over you are delusional .

Layoffs in South Carolina. Very bad! Almost the entire plan is gone. It appears that Molina will be bought out by a larger plan....Anthem?

I work from home. And I work harder than I did in the office. I am available all day often have lunch at my desk. I attend meetings, speak to members, providers, and take a multitude of calls. I do not stack up my PTO. In fact I feel like I never get away from work. I think people should be more informed before they accuse those that work hard, and take pride in their work. I would think all should be more supportive during this time. We are all worried.

Working from home is very much NOT the same thing as taking PTO. When I work from home I work longer hours and am much more productive than when I'm in the office. I take calls, attend meetings, and am available online the entire work day. If there are people who are using working from home like time off, they are not being managed well. It should be fairly obvious when this happens and their managers should intervene.

They talk about layoffs and cut backs to help reduce costs.....on the other hand, you have supervisors, managers and directors "working from home!" Instead of taking PTO, they choose to "work from home." So pretty much they are banking that PTO and can use it for a huge vaca or can cash it in. How does that help out the company?

"I, luckily, found a new job. Didn't bother with the 2 weeks notice and just walked out one day"...that's nice dear. Now run along and get to work at your new job and stop being petty about the job you walked out on 🤗

I, luckily, found a new job. Didn't bother with the 2 weeks notice and just walked out one day. I'm worth more than a damn nickel. I'm now at a company that actually values their employees, is on the Forbes top 10 list and pays better! Managers are actually good and caring and know the work. Corporate could've saved their precious nickels a long time ago by looking at how they can make things run more efficiently... such as actually processing claims correctly the first time! But nope, I'm sure they will get rid of the employees that actually know what they are doing and get paid more and keep the idiots that don't know or don't care how to do the job well because they get paid less. I just hope my remaining friends find themselves new jobs soon!

Yes, people are getting a severance package but it has a cap on the number of years. It is something like 2 weeks/yr with 6yrs being the max.

I'm an employee in HCS in Miami and the first ones gone were the HR people then most of the clinics not counting California. We were also told that they will be going by resume experience credentials and education which is definitely not the case. They already know who is staying and who is going, the decision has been totally biased based on friendship, who you know, who you do, and what you do. There are employees with Masters degree that are on the list(yes I saw it) that are being let go to in order to keep another employee because they go to happy hour together to put it rated-G. Our VP, Jeff King has yet to address us about Project Nickel. Not even an email.

Miami office in Doral HCS. You can cut the tension with a knife. I'm a supervisor and I was called in to rate my delegates! This is just horrific! All my staff works great. How do you rate them? No one feels like working, there's no stamina, no care for job performance or productivity. They need to get this over and done with already. I'm using my PTO for interview days just in case.

NM plan president was also very callous and uncaring. I think the company will be sold now that no family intervention, ties, or input is there. We all need to contact labor department and get the warn act in place.
