It doesn't work like that. When it comes to laying off employees, the Fuehrer's order will be to get rid of some percentage with perhaps a recommendation to keep the workhorses and to let go the status collectors. It will be up to the groups how the heads will roll, and the Fuehrer won't be micromanaging that. That's what happened last times and that's what will most likely happen again (if that will be the case). QCOM is too political and corrupt so don't expect fairness.

A team of 40 has 3 directors? That's actually pretty good. You can find teams of two with one sr. director and one director. Check out CRD!

Back in 2015, SM wanted to get rid of middle managements and keep the staff, but obviously that didn't happen and to make it worse the middle management is now growing.

promotions in qcom is most screwed up, unfair process and if someone has to see how much corrupt qcom is , just be part of review system.

every person has token number which is decided by director and sr.ditectors. and this token number changes based on how good you bow your head for your boss. if you agree on every thing ur boss is saying, no matter how wrong they are, your token number will be kept in priority. if you oppose or try to correct wrong things you will be shown your place.

there is no value of hard work or loyalty to company. you need to be loyal to your boss who is highly corrupt in most cases.

the average difference between hard working and working is of few thousand dollars. and to this add a factor how good you can lick. if you can lick good , the difference will be less even if you don't work at all.

Copy the driver SW with a coding standard and show that rewrite is so good. Get promotion. Original code writers are treated like sh-- and will leave to Apple and Google.

Promptions to all non-H1B is only 'congratulatory' (e.g. no money involved). Congrats on a "job well done, and thank you for busting your a--". If you're not H1B though - nice job, and good luck on your next job. Qualcomm only wants H1B in the USA. All US employees are 4X too expensive.
