Currently at my store it's just like any other day. People are complaining and everyone is leaving. Electronic sales are nonexistent and Levi's are still $40. We did get some store provided food but besides that I think every associate recognizes this is the final nail in the coffin.

My store's Thurs sales were up $39k (44%). We can't be the lone bright spot.
I don't know the numbers, but I had never seen so many shoppers at a Kmart store than during Thanksgiving morning and when we re-opened at 7pm. There didn't appear to be any one specific item people wanted - they just wanted to shop vs. spend time with loved ones (which is sad). For the evening doorbusters, our 16 trampolines sold out within 30 minutes along with a similar number of Cruz futons (we still 10+ futons in the back). In contrast, no ~$600 washer & dryer sets sold during the first hour but we did have one inquiry. My 'A Store' is up 7% on the year despite two competitors sitting within 1.5 miles from us. While one store cannot make up for the underperformance of the majority, just take heart that not all stores are an albatross (just wish the eight leaks in the ceiling would get patched...)
There don't give away anything they simply have merchandise that people want and there is no gimmicks.
We were driving home from relatives at about 8:45 pm and as we were exiting the highway we looked at the Target parking lot to our right and the parking lot was jammed. Aisles on the far outskirts of the lot were filled. I thought the whole darned town must be there. Not sure what they were giving away to get that kind of crowd. I didn't even look at the ads. I don't shop on Thanksgiving.
A little busy in the morning, 6am-11am. Mostly people buying supplies for Thanksgiving or just hanging out. After 11am less than a regular day and overnight 2 drunks at 2am.
Same at the kmart store that iam at. It's the same as any other day, no customers.
I'm gonna assume Tomorrow won't be much better considering the fact that the Black Friday deals started an hour ago online. I'm sure all the computer savvy customers went in today "just looking" and asking all their questions so they can order it online.
I am so excited to sell inventory that I don't have tomorrow.
