NfV-I is the infrastructure , like any Cloud and Data Center. That Battle there is already lost ! Added to this, Cisco is not really an IT player and does not have the capability to deliver large SI undertakings that go with NfV-I projects.
A further complication is the way Cisco drives its Silo's of Technology. As an example the vEPC's Ultra Platform is not integrated to any one of Cisco's NfV-O products , including its Tail-f /NSO product.
APIC is a solution that ties you in to Nexus 9000, VTS manages Cisco only kit and they killed off the Cisco's Version of ODL.
vMS is a mess, Viptela http://viptela.com/solutions/overview/ kicking Cisco's butt in IWAN and ........
It may be too late, but Cisco needs to hire some one who gets all of this , as opposed to promoting people internally that have no clue.
