Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I finally got out!!!

I just had my last day at sears after putting in my two weeks notice. I am so happy to be done there. I have never seen a company run by so many incompetent people in my life. If they would just listen to and trust their managers and give them a chance to succeed they wouldn't be in the predicament they are in now. Good luck to everyone still stuck in this joke of a company.

I do not want to be known as dumb as a brick. It makes me want to cry. It is time to go. I hope Eddie ends up in prison. I did work so hard, I can tell you I did. That monster stole it all from us

Our manager just told us to do what we can. We are only stocking what we have (not much) and trying to keep the store safe. Tiles on floors are coming up (we have caution signs everywhere), roof leaks, ceiling tiles falling down (almost hit a customer last week), people are coming in and stealing whatever they want (no one can stop them) and the shelves are empty (only lots of Christmas left). No one in our town will work for this company because of the reputation and no raises, We have a skeleton crew and one cashier. This has to be the end we can't get any lower.

5 key associates have left in the past 30 days. Poor management and an assistant who harrasses and insults workers contributed. Some have taken 2nd jobs we are told large cuts to payroll starting.

Its already ridiculous. Small operating staff and then add callouts or no shows and we are crippled. Our store is too large to run in this manner and the theft is rampant and it is clearly unsafe.

Everyone is ran to death. Customers suffer as well ... you fools who design this...there can't be customer service this way.

Many customer complaints that must be justified its just crazy.

Add in the incompetence of management, poor scheduling, keep throwing in a few new poorly trained associates. No one to put out freight now because your merchandisers and keys have to be cashiers all the time and if there is only one on duty they are running the football field size floor from Cs to layaway to electronics. Why would anyone continue to operate a business this way.

Is anyone listening?

My last day was Dec 23rd. My store had no store manager (one filling in from another store but never came cause he didn't care and was looking for another job just like everyone else) we had no APM and only one salaried manager, the last 3 weeks we actually played bingo and Texas Holdem for cash prices :) when customers called we answered the phone with something like johns pool hall are you calling about the lap dance special. All of our shelfs were wiped out or either contained merchandise nobody wanted. Stores needs major repairs that will never get done. Only associates left are mostly dumb as a brick with no experience. It really is a joke. All you can do is laugh... and get out ASAP!!
