Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

When should I sell all of my Intel stock this year?

Took ERP this year and did not want to sell any of my Intel stock in 2016 for tax reasons. Now that we are in another tax year should I sell before Q4 earnings are announced later on this month? Don't think earnings will be good and guidance for the rest of the year since no one is buying PC anymore.

I believe the stock price has peaked so I should sell unless someone knows something I don't and I should hang on a little longer cause the stock will trade north of $40.00. Any input/advice would be appreciated, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Compare Intel against a multitude of stocks and you have your answer. If you are a dividend and yield investor there is a reason to hold it, but margins will be squeezed this year and next for sure. Stacey already has disclosed this !

Trolls on this site have been saying take your profits and run! for a long, LONG time now and what happened? The stock price kept going up. LOL I think the majority of them are just disgruntled ISPers sprinkled in with some doomsayers.

I suggest you review the prior year's trends for this time of year, and assess what you think the company's chances are for improved revenue in the next two quarters. Make your move based on your gut feel.

Intel isn't just about PC's. Also, the way you worded this "so I should sell unless someone knows something I don't " makes it sound like you are asking for insider information. I wouldn't go there.

At some point it could trade above $40 (but who knows when), or below where it is now. It's anyone's guess. Sometimes stock prices seem to have a mind of their own. Have you even looked at the stock price history? It hasn't seen $40 since back in 2000 and is near the 2016's all time high now.

With that said, doesn't it sometimes go up right before earnings, then drop down after, even when the news is good? lol If it was me I'd wait for a while. Lots of talk about the Trump rally and tech stocks (and financial, etc).

I'm hanging on.
