I am not sure what to make of this. I work at a Sears that as far as I know is doing well. My store has been boxing up inventory to send to other sites. When I asked the store manager he said we were sending inventory that is not selling well at our site to sites where it sells better. Some of the items we boxed up was stuff we got in for the holidays but has not sold very well; some was stuff that moves fairly well, even though we have lots of left overs from the holidays and some was either out of stock or we did not have enough to fill the boxing order and had to wipe our our supply to ship off. My department is not the only one that was told to do this. The next day the manager thanked everyone who came in early to help move appliances that was being sent to another store. He said they were being sent to a store that was going to only sell appliances but when I looked into it the store is on the list of stores being closed. It has left me wondering if inventory from our store is being shipped elsewhere to be liquidated. Has anyone else been sending inventory to other stores or receiving it from other stores? Given everything going on I can't help but wonder if the order to do so is to help liquidate my store.

Of course it is an indication of what is going to happen to your store because all sears will be closing shortly. Isn't anyone listening? Look for a new job, this company is toast!
This is done all the time and not just with SHC. All companies that close stores send overstock or items that do not sell well to closing stores. In liquidation you would be surprised what people will buy. Everyone likes a bargain.
what sort of pricing is used at the liquidation stores?
It's common practice. It's just a way to get rid of merchandise that hasn't been selling. Stores do it all the time.
Yes, my store is closing and we are getting merchandise from other store, like Christmas blankets, and stuff. We are scheduled to receive 5 or more trucks. It will stop in February.
NONE of the Sears stores are doing well
It's company-wide. We're sending non-productive inventory to stores that are in liquidation, because stores that are closing generally have no problem selling through the merchandise. We did the exact same thing last year or the year before.
Almost all the Sears stores are sending stuff out, so I don't think this would be an indicator of anything about your store.
