At my location all I hear is "your lucky, your position went untouched"
Well let me give the LP perspective on this:
From the beginning of this fiasco, Lowes refers to as restructuring, we were called off vacations etc and told you must be in store. No explanation, just be there. We needed to be there to support the store.
Over the next 2 weeks, as meeting after meeting is called, we covered the floor, took phones - did what we needed to support the store as directed. Like good little soldiers. While also expected to continue to do our everyday tasks, the never ending list of top priorities that simply must be completed. No excuses.
During this time we also took numerous conference calls explaining to us how this is a good move and assigning more tasks to pin to our wall of Top Priorities.
During these times lowes likes to remind us that we are key parts of the senior management team and as such we need to step up and take the reigns. Funny how when it comes to any form of compensation we fall back to Department managers or CSA's. You need to take your head out of your a@@ and see that you can't have it both ways. What role do you want us to play because, contrary to your beliefs, we can't do it all.
And frankly, you aren't compensating us for the work we already do, let alone the additional work you've already dumped on us and the rest that's soon to come.
Astronomical amounts of training we are going to have to head up, core 5, cycle counts and so on that has yet to be properly explained, but will fall on LP until you get your stuff together.
And let's face it, with stores filled with disgruntled associates even the programs going well the previous year are going to crash and burn. Be ready for a rough year and my fellow LP- as if you didn't already know this, the success of all these programs; that falls solely on you.
Let us not forget yet another typical Lowes move:
Dropping the ball on the training of the New Service and Support Managers.
All I can say to that is fantastic, simply fantastic.
Butchering the rolling out of new company campaigns and directives is not a sport. Occasionally you can do something correctly. In fact, we stockholders encourage it.
Don't worry, LP will continue to "support" the stores as needed. But my question remains:
When is Lowes going to support the LP program?
Oh hell, probably the next to go anyway.
Final thoughts:
Department managers, ASM's I'm sorry it went down like it did. You did not deserve for it to go down this way and know that (at least at the in store level) LP stands with you.
Morale is terrible through out every store I've been in and I see no end in sight unfortunately. Its going to be rough, but keep in mind, it's going to be rough for everyone. Well atleast everyone below a Store Manager Level.
